About the Author

Veronica Mahara

I began my career not as a writer but as a hairstylist. I had my own salon and worked in this field for close to thirty years with a short two-year stint in owning a health food store and juice bar. Retail is not my thing and I went back into hairstyling.

In 2009 after much plotting out my story I began to write the Traveled Heart Series. My passion for writing was ignited and in 2016 I closed my salon to focus on my novels. My latest being a stand alone titled Beyond Diamonds.

Every writer needs a little company while working… even if he has four paws and absolutely no respect for deadlines. 😂 Life was hard in 19th century America. But if you didn't know what you were missing, you made the best of what you had. The poor suffered the most because they could see what they were missing. The rich had all the new inventions of that very industrious era. Look back in history and you'll see how easy we have it today in comparison. It's been an interesting and eye-opening experience to write about a time which is really not that long ago. So much research went into writing these books! 📚 While I write historical fiction, many of the real-life facts I uncovered along the way helped inspire some of the storylines. Sometimes, history provides the best inspiration!
